I wrote this post this time last year and didn't post it. I'll be writing a post nearer Christmas to do a round-up of the year with plans for 2025. Come back to see if I did all I planned to do.
It's been a while since I wrote one of these. It's been a while since I had any real plans. This year there will be new material with my name on for the first time in a few years.
I won't deny the last few years have been difficult, and I'm still not in the best of health, but at least I got the all clear from the breast clinic this week. I still have an upper respiratory issue - post nasal drip - which is as lovely as it sounds and, which I can't seem to shift. My mobility is crap and some days the brain fog wins, but writing has taken place and still is taking place.
In 2023, I finished a trilogy I started writing way back in 2015. I wanted to write a long story with the same MCs. All three parts are written and beta read. Book 1 of the Finding Family - Half Empty is edited and has a cover which I'm sharing here for the first time. I need help with formatting and distribution and then it will become my first self-published story. Book Two is called Half Full and Book Three is Brimming Over. With any luck, I hope to get all three parts out in 2024.
I have another story due to be published in June. This is my first shifter novel. I've always shied away from writing one, but I chose something different and created a domestic cat shifter. The book will be called The Cat who came in from the Cold. It will be part of a series called The Wanderlings. Book Two, which is my next project will be called The Cat who went into the Woods. It will feature a beaver shifter alongside a cat. I have ideas for two other stories in the series, and am looking forward to creating a whole shifter world.
My current WIP is called Dungarees, Wellies, and Wedding Dresses. It's a f/f romance set in the Yorkshire Dales. Beth is a farmer and Chrissy sells wedding dresses. I am close to finishing the first draft then after an edit we'll see if my usual publisher wants it.
All this means that, I could, in theory have five books out this year. So, wish me luck, and happy reading and writing to everyone.
